H2H New York
Jami Goleski is a mother of two young children and resides in Long Island, NY. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Towson University, a Master’s degree in Special Education from Long Island University, and has several years experience in a rewarding career as a Preschool and Kindergarten teacher. After the birth of her first child, Jami became a full time mommy which later led her to new friendships and her latest career in and passion for hoopdancing and fitness.
After several years of a sole identity of “mom”, Jami found herself looking to rediscover her inner essence and regain her identity as a vibrant, energetic woman in addition to her most important and beloved role as a mother. It was then that Jami met Gina Giargente, her dear friend and partner in Hoop2Health, and discovered a love for Hoopdancing. The benefits of hooping uncovered her creative passion, bonded her in newfound friendships, and ultimately provided Jami with an outlet to promote a healthier mind, body and spirit.
Jami’s love and passion for hoopdancing and fitness led her to create her own small business called Hip-Mama Hula Hoops and she then became a Hoopnotica certified instructor in 2011. For the better part of 2 years she taught weekly Hoopdance fitness classes for adults and children alike. Additionally, over the last year, Jami began expanding her hoop fitness program by partnering with several schools in her eastern Long Island community to provide hoopdancing workshops to enhance their wellness programs by demonstrating the benefits of this fun, new exercise and dance. Upon discovering the positive effects that hoopdancing had on the students she worked with, Jami then brought hooping to them outside the classroom, offering dynamic, fun, energizing and successful party opportunities for her community. With her extensive experience in education, motherhood, and love for dance and fitness, Jami has finally found the final piece of the equation in her mental, physical, and emotional health and happiness in hoopdance and she is thrilled to bring this to the community with Hoop2Health!.
